It’s understandable to want the best surgeon available; however, it may be difficult to determine what that title actually means. How can you determine which surgeon is truly the best in your area?
Let’s discuss a few qualifications worth looking for as you begin your search.
Credentials and Experience
When choosing a plastic surgeon, you should always look for someone who is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, which represents the highest standards of skill, ethics, and regard for safety. You may also choose someone who is a member of a professional society, such as the American Society of Plastic Surgery or The Aesthetic Society.
In addition to these credentials, your surgeon should have demonstrated experience creating excellent results for your chosen procedure.
